I know, I know...we travel a lot. But our love of discovering new places - the food, the drink, and the people; of seeing amazing landscapes, art, and architecture; of diving into the local culture and history; and of just really getting to know a place means that we have to travel. And we wouldn't stop for anything.
This time we're heading to South America. Starting off in Buenos Aires, Argentina, we'll spend a week in town eating great steak, dancing the Tango, experiencing a local gaucho ranch, and shopping to our hearts' content (BA is the Paris of South America).
Next we'll board an Oceania cruise and sail around Cape Horn at the bottom of the world. Among the several stops along the way, we'll sail through the fjords in Chile, visit Tierra del Fuego National Park
and drop our jaws at the other-worldly Patagonia region where dramatic mountains jag through the horizon. Expect lots of pictures!
We'll finish the trip with a week in Santiago and Valparaiso, Chile. In Santiago, we'll visit wineries and sample the fabulous Chilean offerings, and in ValP, we'll hit the beach (after all, it's summer down there!).

The boy we hosted in 1999 as an exchange student is now a Doctor in Santiago (he was from Iquique, Chile). He and his family visited me in May ~ I hope to get there someday too!
