So now we start the final phase of this amazing vacation: Valparaiso and Santiago.
We disembarked early this morning in San Antonio de Santiago, and our transfer picked us up and drove the half hour to Valparaiso. We are now happily ensconced in the Fauna Hotel, a lovely boutique hotel just outside the central city.
When we arrived our room wasn't quite ready (it was 9am) so they sent us up to their restaurant. There were some hot items and a small buffet. Front and center on the table was a HUGE bowl of fresh guacamole. OMG! So I made avocado toast. So fresh. So delicious. Yum!
It's time for a quick nap; we have a city tour at 3pm, and we'll have to find a bite to eat before then. We have some exploring to do...there are several bars and a couple of microbreweries nearby. But we have all day tomorrow, too.
On Monday we head back to Santiago via the Casablanca wine region, but for now we're scouting cerveza!
